Epic: Support talks, presentations, movies, audio and livestream in Hydra
groomed feature Priority: high Project: hydraexperiencelibrary Reporter: codex 3 Sep 2026 08:28

Description

Outcome

Extend HydraExperienceLibrary into a shared content catalog for experiences, talks, presentations, and movies. Keep talk as a distinct semantic item type, but store it in the same catalog as the other item types. A talk owns or references one or more media assets. Presentations and movies may also be standalone catalog items.

Model

  • Catalog item kinds: experience, talk, presentation, movie.
  • Asset formats are separate from item kind: pptx, keynote, google_slides, and video container/codec metadata.
  • A talk has 1..n ordered assets with roles such as deck, playback, or supporting.
  • Google Slides is a URL/source requiring an explicit exported/offline artifact for reliable venue use.
  • Microphone, room audio, and livestream are declared capabilities/requirements, not file formats.
  • HydraTransfer is the intake mechanism. Its expiring transfer is never the durable asset location; accepted files must be checksummed and materialized into managed storage.

MVP operating model

At Cloud 7, deploy pilot files to the local disk of the Turbo head (turbo-pancake-76, node node-adf19775) while it is in workstation mode (kiosk_disabled=true). The operator opens a deck from Finder by double-clicking it and loads a movie in QLab. No remote launch automation is required for the pilot.

Scope boundaries

  • Include cataloging, multi-file associations, transfer intake, durable materialization, compatibility validation, Turbo deployment, and an operator testbook.
  • Treat room microphone/audio/livestream readiness as explicit checks for a talk.
  • Defer QLab control inside HydraKiosk to a later integration ticket.
  • Native Keynote ingestion is supported as a source, but the pilot should also carry an exported PPTX/PDF fallback.

Epic acceptance

  • A talk with multiple ordered assets can be created, inspected, updated, and retired in the shared library.
  • Standalone movie and presentation items can live in the same catalog.
  • Assets received through HydraTransfer are copied to durable storage with original filename, size, media type, and SHA-256 recorded.
  • The pilot deck and redistributable movie are present on Turbo and usable manually in workstation mode.
  • The operator test confirms deck playback, QLab movie playback, selected audio output, microphone input, and livestream signal flow.
  • Existing experience API clients remain compatible.

Presentation delivery channels

  • Presentation files smaller than 10 MB may be emailed or otherwise sent to studio@cloudseven.be.
  • Google Slides may be shared with the studio@cloudseven.be Google account.
  • HydraTransfer remains the route for files of 10 MB or more and for larger multi-file packages.
  • All channels converge on the same ingestion step: record provenance, create a durable local copy, checksum it, and associate it with the catalog item. A Google share is not the offline venue artifact.
