Split hydratam into two tiers: the current public /atlas stays as-is (NUTS regions, tiers, cities, venues), and a second, iamnim-authenticated layer adds market-activity signal sourced from dealroom.co.
Researched dealroom.co's public API on 2026-09-17 ([[project_dealroom_hydratam_feed]] in memory). It has a large no-auth, CORS-enabled surface (/api/marketmaps, /api/marketmap?id=, /api/live-signals, /data/just-founded.json, /investors/manifest.json, /power-law-outcomes/) that could plausibly feed a country/region-level "market heat" overlay onto hydratam's NUTS priority tiers.
But dealroom's Terms of Service license the data for "personal and/or internal business purposes only" and explicitly forbid publishing, redistributing, or commercializing it. hydratam's /atlas is a public URL today, so baking dealroom data straight into it would violate that. The public atlas needs to stay dealroom-free; any dealroom-derived overlay has to live behind an authenticated, non-public view to stay inside "internal business use."
GET /api/marketmaps?q=&tag= -- curated sector landscapes (170+), searchable by keyword/tagGET /api/marketmap?id= -- companies in a map, each with hq.city.name / hq.country.name, funding, industries. No NUTS code, no lat/long -- same geocoding gap as #621 (hydradistrict coordinates), will need the same city/country -> NUTS resolution stepGET /api/live-signals, /data/just-founded.json -- recent funding / new startups, usable as a recency signal/power-law-outcomes/ + /data/power-law-ticker.json -- unicorn counts by country/sector, a country-level activity signal that could weight tiers/atlas: unchanged, no third-party data, no loginNot started. This issue is the research record and design intent; implementation is future work.
