[SUPERSEDED by hyperscaler ruling on #695] Provider kill-questions: OVH Windows-on-GPU, Hetzner GEX44, LeaderGPU terms

Description

Child of #695, CLOSED as superseded by the hyperscaler ruling. Answers recorded here because they are reusable evidence.

LeaderTelecom (LeaderGPU) REPLIED 2026-09-14. The answer confirms the ruling was right.

The site form worked after all; Iris at LeaderTelecom B.V. answered all four questions.

  1. SLA: NONE. Dedicated GPU servers run best-effort with no contractual uptime guarantee. Support is Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 CET. Outside those hours they accept incident reports only. Hardware faults get a priority replacement effort, not a committed time.

  2. Traffic: NOT unmetered. Monthly billing includes 10 TB; above that it is EUR 0.09 per GB excluding VAT.

This contradicts the plan's cost table, which assumed EUR 0 egress for LeaderGPU. At the plan's own duty cycle (35 Mbps sustained, 6 hours a day, 30 days) one stream is about 2.84 TB per month, so the 10 TB allowance covers roughly 3.5 concurrent streams. The fourth stream-month costs about 2835 GB x EUR 0.09, roughly EUR 255, which is the same order as AWS (about USD 247) and Azure (about USD 238). The zero-egress advantage was real only below about 3.5 streams and disappears exactly where capacity matters.

  1. Windows provisioning: about 15 minutes once a server is allocated, not the 1 business day the public FAQ states.

  2. Per-day billing: yes on the single-4090 with 512 GB RAM, EUR 59.90 per day or EUR 299.00 per week excluding VAT. A Friday to Monday rental is possible in principle. NOTE: EUR 59.90 per day is three times the EUR 18 to 20 per day the plan estimated for the smoke test.

DISQUALIFYING CAVEAT: availability is not guaranteed. Single-4090 servers with Windows Server free up very rarely and they cannot promise one in the near future. The only route is a personal account plus a waitlist notification. A capacity plan cannot depend on a waitlist.

Consequence

Nothing changes. GCP stays first-class and the hyperscalers stay the plan. If a zero-egress bare-metal option is ever revisited for cost, this reply is the baseline: no SLA, weekday-only support, 10 TB then EUR 0.09 per GB, and no supply guarantee. Hetzner remains out separately (GEX44 unavailable, no Windows add-on in its docs).
