For the venue team (plain language)
This ticket tracks the whole sound system at Cloud Seven and keeps every audio problem in one place.
How the sound works here. Music starts from one of the Sonos players (you pick "Bar" or "Yoga" when you AirPlay from a phone), or from the cable jack in the bar wall. That signal goes to a central audio brain in the second-floor server room (a Biamp unit), which sends sound to the amplifiers, and the amplifiers drive the speakers in each room. You choose the source and volume on the white wall panels: one in the bar, one in the gym.
The rooms with sound. Bar, dining room, and the yoga/gym. Each has its own speakers and its own volume.
What we found and what it means for you:
- The bar sound crackles while the dining room, playing the same music, is clean. So the problem is in the bar's own speakers, amplifier channel, or wiring, not in the music source. Tracked separately in ticket #693.
- On the bar wall panel, the second choice is labelled "Dining Room" but it does not actually switch to the yoga source, it just repeats the bar. The label is wrong and the button needs re-pointing. This is a settings fix in the Biamp unit.
- The bar is far too quiet until near maximum, while the dining room is well-behaved at half. The bar volume range needs re-balancing, also a settings fix in the Biamp unit.
- One Sonos player had been turned all the way down (that was the long-standing "yoga has no sound"); we can now see and set these remotely.
The names are fine. "Bar" plays in the bar, "Yoga" plays in the gym. Both Sonos players live in the server room rack, so the names are just labels for the rooms they feed, not where the boxes sit.
What we can and cannot do from our side. We can now see and control the Sonos players remotely (play, stop, volume). To change the Biamp settings (the label, the routing, the volume balance) we need to open its programming, which needs the venue computer and, possibly, a password from the previous installer (Secure Inside). That work is tracked in ticket #682.
Status: what we can do now (2026-09-11)
Working today (delivered, live):
- See every audio device on the Cloud Seven venue page in hydravenues: both Sonos Ports, the Tesira, the two ReVAMP amps, both TEC-1 panels, mapped into their rooms with live status where available.
- Read Sonos playback state remotely: transport, source (line-in / stream / grouped), volume, mute (#564).
- Control the Sonos players remotely: play, stop, set volume, select line-in (#563). Proven live 2026-09-10, e.g. flipping the Yoga Port volume (green LED to white, confirmed at the rack) and running the source-mapping test.
- Known-good map: Bar Port = bar zone, Yoga Port = yoga/gym zone; full chain sources -> Tesira 11.0.0.201 -> ReVAMP 2600/2150 -> zone speakers; two wall panels (bar, gym).
- Network access to the Tesira staged: chunky and Turbo both reach 11.0.0.201; RDP enabled on chunky, AnyDesk on Turbo.
Not yet possible (blocked / in flight):
- Read or edit the Tesira programming remotely: needs Biamp's Windows software on an interactive desktop (our exec channel is session 0 and cannot drive GUIs), and may be blocked by a Secure Inside design password. Path staged, not done (#682, #696).
- Headless Tesira control (TTP): the channel is off until the design is opened and TTP enabled (#682).
- The two Tesira-config fixes (bar panel Dining->Yoga label + crosspoint; bar volume calibration): need the programming opened (#682, or the technician visit #693).
- The bar crackle: physical, needs the technician (#693).
In flight right now:
- #693 technician visit for the crackle + on-the-spot config fixes: 1 to 4 weeks (by ~2026-10-09 worst case).
- #696 permanent Windows Tesira gateway on the venue LAN for durable remote access.
- #550 Turbo as the venue relay so the Sonos control/monitoring runs centrally, not via the cosmic CLI fallback.
One-liner: we can fully see and drive the Sonos front end of the system today; the Biamp side (Tesira config + physical amps/speakers) is staged for access but still needs either the technician visit or the gateway to become operable.
MASTER for the Cloud Seven audio system as a physical whole: every source, the DSP, the amps, and the speakers in each zone. Venue: cloud-seven. This is the audio-domain umbrella; the software/control tickets and the physical-fault tickets all hang here.
The signal chain (verified 2026-09-10)
Sources -> Biamp Tesira DSP -> zone amplifiers -> speakers, selected by two wall panels.
- Sources: Sonos Port "Bar" (11.0.6.30), Sonos Port "Yoga" (11.0.6.31) as the AirPlay inputs, plus a local RCA wall jack in the bar. Both Ports physically racked in Server Room 201.
- DSP: Biamp Tesira server main, 11.0.0.201 (Biamp OUI 78:45:01), in Server Room 201.
- Amps: Biamp ReVAMP 2600 and ReVAMP 2150 (Server Room 201, likely AVB to the Tesira, no IP).
- Panels: Biamp TEC-1 in the bar, Biamp TEC-1 in the yoga/gym.
Zones and their speakers
- Bar — source "Bar" Port; fed via the Tesira and a ReVAMP channel. Physical speakers in the bar.
- Dining Room — has its own volume on the bar panel; nice bg at 50, party at 70. Physical speakers in the dining room. (Source routing on the bar panel is currently broken, see the mapping fix.)
- Yoga / Gym — source "Yoga" Port; its own TEC-1 panel with correct Bar/Yoga sources. Physical speakers in the gym.
Children and related
Software / platform (all hydraroar/hydraneck/hydravenues):
- #540 CLOSED - map + classify venue audio (hydraneck + hydravenues)
- #564 CLOSED - read playback state (transport/source/volume)
- #563 CLOSED - playback control (play/stop/volume)
- #550 OPEN - hydraroar reach (Turbo as venue proxy)
Tesira control plane:
- #682 - land Biamp Tesira control via hydrabiamp/Turbo (its own sub-master; TTP runtime control, .tmf recovery, calibration + panel remap)
Physical faults (new children of this master):
- crackle in the bar speakers (filed as its own ticket below)
Source-level:
- #570 - Sonos "Bar" source diagnosis; mapping now RESOLVED (Bar Port=bar, Yoga Port=yoga), the remaining item there is the bar-panel Dining->Yoga label + crosspoint, which is Tesira work under #682.
Private, out of scope
The 3 residence Sonos (192.168.2.x, FDG WiFi) are the owner's home system, not venue audio (#554 withdrawn).
